The Celina Rotary Club annually awards scholarships to Celina High School graduating seniors. Four scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded. Individuals who have been selected by the Celina High School faculty during their high school career as either a “Student of the Month” or “Commended Student of the Month” are eligible to apply. Applications may be picked up from the Guidance Department at CHS. Completed applications must be in the hands of Mr. Ethan Knopp, Celina High School Guidance Counselor, by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6. A completed application includes the application sheet and two recommendations (one academic and one personal). Under no circumstances will any part of the application be accepted after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6. Interviews will be scheduled the week of March 27, for those selected from the applicants. Scholarship winners will also be required to attend a Celina Rotary Meeting and describe their future goals.
The Celina Rotary Award will focus upon the community/school and service/leadership of the applicants. The decision of the Celina Rotary Award Selection Committee shall be final. Alternates shall be chosen by the committee in the event the initial recipients of each scholarship are unable to use the award. Awards shall be paid either directly to the appropriate educational institution or to the recipient upon submission of educational billings to the Rotary Treasurer.
